500 Followers! Thank you!

Hey guys! Just wanted to give a quick thank you for 500 followers! Insane!

500!!!!

I honestly had no clue that I’d gain this many followers within a year, nor did I understand how big WordPress really was.

Guess I’ll tell the story of how my blog came to be, though it’s pretty simple, haha.

I was on reddit one day and came across an authors post offering his book for free, for a few days. Seeing that it was a genre I enjoyed, I grabbed it and began reading it that same day. I did however notice it had no reviews. After finishing the book, and enjoying it, I felt the need to leave a review on Amazon. As days passed, I kept checking on the books review count, and saw that it stayed at one. Mine. Why? This book is awesome, it needed to be found.

I remembered years back I had won a couple book giveaways on a bloggers site, who goes by the name Wordspelunking. I thought the idea of blogging and reviewing was pretty neat, and wanted to try it for myself.

I spent some time looking at books, picking out ones I’d read and review, or have already read. But these were well known books. Books that were on the front page. I kept thinking about how the book I recently reviewed sat on that one review. It was then that I decided that I’d review books for indie authors. After reading so many books by indie authors this year, I’m glad I chose to do so. I’ve read many amazing stories, and can’t wait to read more. I had hoped to gain a following big enough to give those indie authors some more attention, and I’m excited and relieved that my blog is helping. I’ll continue to visit indie authors worlds, reviewing, and trying to grow.

I’ve had a blast being here. The community is amazing. I appreciate all my commentors, followers and friends I’ve made on here. Really, thank you guys for sticking around. I have many years to look forward to, and I’m happy I’m here with you.

Much love,

  1. Look how great you’re doing, Rob. I think I had 7 liked my first whole year. Lol. I just didn’t get how “social” media worked. You have a great site, your own style of reviewing, and your personality shines through. Those are three keys to success as a book reviewer. I expect that you’ll continue to grow. 🙂 Enjoy.

Congrats on the 500 followers! That’s very impressive after so short a time at blogging!
And thank you for supporting indie authors! It’s seriously awesome when readers like you lend a hand to the lesser-known storytellers and try and spread the word about them. There are quite a few diamonds hiding in the rough of self-published fiction. Without bloggers such as yourself, most of them would stay hidden.

    1. Thank you! I see that you’re halfway there! I know youll get there. You have great reviews. Oh I think I did spot a problem accessing your site though! I can’t click on your address on the WordPress reader. I think you have to change your link address from madbooklove.com to madbooklove.wordpress.com should work then

  3. Congrats on reaching 500!! I have to say too it’s always nice when you find one of those gems and go back later to see that others are discovering that book too since you were one of the first to see how great it was. 🙂

    1. Thank you! For sure! I have seen this a few times and really do wish them success. It brings a smile to my face when others feel what I felt in my reviews. Kind of like a “Told ya!” moment, haha. Sharing treasure!

    1. They really do create amazing worlds! Don’t you absolutely love it when an author makes your imagination imagine something you have never even thought of before? I get so excited when this happens. Expanding the mind.
